Selected surgical problems in pediatric population seen by family physicians and pediatricians

The authors review the literature on the most frequent surgical entities found in pediatric population. These entities are often seen by general practitioners and pediatricians in their everyday practice. The aim of the paper is to present pathogenesis and treatment modalities of these entities and draw attention of a reader to crucial problems that might be faced by above mentioned specialist in managing these entities. The authors stress that adequate management of these problems requires close cooperation with pediatric surgeons.
