Abstract

Objective of this thesis is to evaluate results of comprehensive rehabilitation of patients after femoral joint endoprosthesis reconstructive operation and patients after femoral joint endoprosthesis reconstructive operation and after stroke under hospital conditions. Rehabilitation results have been evaluated for patients treated in the division in years 2003–2004 at which due to injury and fracture or degenerative changes stroke of femoral joint has been performed (37 patients). 11 patients after endoprosthesis reconstructive operation and after past stroke have been separated from this group. For outcome evaluation of the rehabilitation following scales have been used: Brunnström, Ranking, Barthels coefficient and data from medical history. At rehabilitated patients in short time after the conducted femoral joint alloplasty operation (max. one month) reduction of pain complaints, gait efficiency and aesthetics improvement and general physical fitness have been obtained. Co-existing of advanced degenerative changes in the second femoral joint and/or in knee joints, spine and pain complaints related to it made treatment difficult and deteriorated rehabilitation results. At patients after allopasty preceding single stroke episode followed an improvement of physical efficiency and of motoric functions as result of rehabilitation. At patients after multiple strokes, with extensive brain injury, burdened with co-existing diseases and with endoprosthesis of femoral joint a reduction of pain complaints and poor degree improvement of physical efficiency have been obtained.
