Abstract

The work examines two words that appear in the legend on the tetradrachmas of the so-called “Heraios” coinage, “Σαναβ” and its variants, and “Αντειχ,” minted in Bactria. Their interpretation and historical significance remain highly controversial. This article attempts to clarify this predica -ment by focusing on the latter as the key for resolving this debate.
