Odontomes. Clinical observations

Introduction: Odontoma belongs to tumors ofjaws which are considered to be hamartomatous ma!-formation. These tumors develop inside jaws and they may disorder tooth eruption or location of tooth bud.
Aim of study: The aim of the study is to present on base of min clinical observation and medical li-terature issues about symptoms and methods of odontomes treatment.
Material and the methods: The study covers 12 patients who were treated in Maxillofacial Ward Re-gional Specialistic Hospital in Rzeszow between 1990 and 2009. The medical treatment contained sur-gical treatment, intra and post operative course wns successful.
Conclusion: In most cases patients were sent to the hospital by orthodontists and the tumors were found accidentally during X-ray examination. In cases combined with disorder of tooth eruption con-nected surgical and orthodontic treatment is necessary.
