Bukiety zielne święcone w dniu Matki Boskiej Zielnej w Sanockiem

Abstrakt

The aim of study was to document the tradition of blessing herbal bouquets on Assumption Day (15th of August) in the Sanok region (SE Poland). Photographs of 119 bouquets were taken and interviews were perormed with older inhabitants. On average eight taxa are blessed. The blessed species are similar to the ones blessed in the neighbouring areas. The ten most commonly blessed species are: Dahlia sp., Anethum graveolens, Triticum sp., Avena sativa, Gladiolus sp., Tanacetum vulgare, Daucus carota (cultivated form), Phlox paniculata, Malus domestica and Eupatorium cannabinum.
