In 2002-2006 a public-opinion poll in 390 farms of Łódź voivodship was conducted. The questionnaire used dealt with an evaluation of technology production of root and tuber crops: potato and sugar beet. Agrotechnological data were obtained for 351 potato production plantations and 186 sugar beet ones. Cultivation of sugar beet characterized with the higher complexity index of technology production (86 %) as compared to potato (67 %). The contribution of correct agrotechnical decisions, on average for studied species was the highest for the factors: choice of soil class (80 %) and forecrop (84 %), term of farmyard manure application and its rate (85,3 %), date (86 %) and rate (87,2 %) of sowing (planting), harvesting with a combine-harvester (83 %). More often declines from technology production recommendation were: rate of applied mineral fertilizers, foliar fertilization, while in the case of potato fungicides, herbicides application and degree of qualified seed material.
