Earthworms are able to neutralise organic waste by producing a fertilizer called vermicompost. The aim of this study was to vermicompost cellulose waste by two species of eartworms: Eisenia fetida (Sav.) and Dendrobena veneta (Rosa). During vermicomposting the influence of this process on populations of earthworms was observed. In the investigation survival rate, dynamics changes of biomass, gender structure and reproduction were checked. The properties of the vermicompost obtained was also defined.
