Environmental protection in hotels – chosen aspects

Abstract

An article presents the problem of the proceeding in the context of the influence of hotels on the environment. It stresses that significant role, as far as the influence on the environment is concerned, is given to the location of the hotels in the close neighborhood or within the boundaries of Natura 2000 areas. It implies conducting the additional administrative procedure. The problem of the environmental protection in hotel management was indicated as well, especially in the context of water-sewage and energy management, which have a direct impact on the hotel exploitation costs. The article emphasizes that the first stages in costs decreasing, in the result of the implementation of solutions connected with environmental protection in the broad sense, do not demand meaningful investments. They can be achieved by means of simple methods, which haven’t been in use in many Polish hotels already.
