Abstract

This work presents the results of investigations conducted in 2003-2005 to evaluate the after-effect of catch crop and spring barley straw on yielding and economic effects of winter triticale cultivation. Two experimental variants were applied. I - Catch crop: control object (without catch crop), black medic, black medic + Italian ryegrass, fodder radish, fodder radish – mulch. II – Straw: sub-block without straw, sub-block with straw. In the first and the second year after application of catch crop and straw combination table potato and winter triticale were cultivated, respectively. The highest yield and the highest level of direct surplus were recorded from winter triticale cultivated in the second year after ploughing the mixture of black medic with Italian ryegrass in combination with straw.
