Range of packaging of plant protection chemicals distributed in Podkarpacie region

Abstract

Data collected from the Provincial Plant-Protection and Seed-Production Inspectorate in Rzeszów on the volume of sales of plant protection chemicals were analysed in respect of the use forms of those herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and seed dressings. It shows that over 4,6 million kg of these agro-chemicals were distributed during 1996 - 2001 in the Podkarpacie region. Their forms ranged from 6 [among seed dressings] to 14[among herbicides] different use forms. As much as 76% were liquids, while 24% were solids. In liquid form 12,5% were ECs i.e. concentrates for mixing to water emulsions, 12,4% were SCs, i.e. concentrates in form of concentrated slurry and 71% were SLs, i.e. water-soluble concentrates. Among solid forms 67% were WPs, i.e. the water-soluble powders.
