Examples of rearing species from the order of the flies (Diptera) and beetles (Coleoptera) on organic waste are promoted. Scientific studies indicates that under appropriate conditions these insects have less environmental impact than more traditional Western forms of animal protein production. Insects transforming various wastes into new sources of utility provide excellent support for retardation, due to the alternative and balanced source of high protein content and key micronutrients for animals and humans. They also improve the sanitary safety of the environment, cleaning it, stabilizing and supporting it. In general, insects can make valuable economic and invigorating contributions to the development of food or feed production systems and provide an alternative to vegetable protein derived from imported soybeans and to the traditional production of the current food industry and help the economic and social development of some regions of the world, including Poland.
