Abstract

In this study the influence of methanol dose on efficiency of denitrification in activated sludge was examined. Landfill lycheate which have been previously threated in nitrification chamber were analyzed. Experiment was carried out in SBR with HRT of 24 h. 50% of stechiometric dose was sufficient to remove organic compound, but insufficient to reach total nitrification. The doses of 100, 150 and 200% were effective to remove nitrogen componds from lycheates but 150 and 200% doses were uneconomical because of methanol remains found in effluent.
