Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The author uploads two files:
    1) the first file contains:
    a) the text of the article - prepared in compliance with the editorial requirements;
    b) summary and keywords in Polish;
    c) title in English, abstract and keywords in English;
    e) list of bibliographies
    2) The second file contains: author's data, affiliation, ORCID, e-mail address.
  • The text meets the editorial requirements. Files that do not meet the editorial requirements will not be reviewed and will be rejected without informing the author.
  • Text saved in Microsoft Word format with the ending .DOC (not .DOCX).

  • If the submitted text is a post-conference publication, please mark it in the message to the Editorial Office with reference to the title and date of the conference

Author Guidelines

Publication Rules in Acta Iuridica Resoviensia

Submitted materials may take the form of an article, glossary, review, report and review of legislation, case law and journals.

The materials should be prepared in an electronic version in the Microsoft Word editor format (the record should end in DOC [not DOCX].

The file with the article should also include a summary of no more than 1/3 of a page (up to 1000 characters) in Polish and English, along with the title in English, keywords in Polish and English, and a bibliography.

In addition, the Author should send a separate file containing his name, surname, e-mail address, title or academic degree and affiliation, as well as a unique identifier of scientists (ORCID - Open Researcher and Contributor ID).

When submitting material for publication, the author is asked to provide his correspondence address, telephone contact and e-mail address.

The author receives the material for the author's correction in an electronic version. Failure to return the author's correction within the prescribed period means acceptance of the version of the received text.

Editors do not pay authors for published materials; only sends a copy of the notebook.

 

Rules of making footnotes in Acta Iuridica Resoviensia

Footnote numbering is continuous.

A footnote is treated like a sentence, so it should start with a capital letter and end with a period.

In the text, the number of the footnote is placed without spaces after the word, before the comma or the period ending the sentence.

The author's work that is cited for the first time should be cited as follows: initial of the first name with a dot, surname, title of the work in italics after a comma, place and year of publication, pages, e.g. A. Wolter, J. Ignatowicz, K. Stefaniuk,Prawo cywilne. Zarys części ogólnej, Warszawa 2001, p. 42.

An article from a scientific journal should be cited as follows: initial of the name with a dot, surname, title of the article in italics, title of the journal (in quotation marks "..."), volume in Arabic numerals, publication number after a comma, then, year of publication, cited pages, e.g. S. Grobel, Niektóre aspekty winy w prawie cywilnym, „Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, Seria Prawnicza”, Prawo 10, 2011, p. 62.

An article from a collective publication should be cited as follows: author's first name with a dot, surname, title of the article in italics, comma, followed by [in:], title of the collective publication in italics, editor (s), place of publication and pages, e.g. A. Dębiński, Prawo rzymskie a systematyka prawa kanonicznego, [in:] ‘Leges sapere’.Studia i prace dedykowane Profesorowi Januszowi Sondlowi w pięćdziesiątą rocznicę pracy naukowej, red. W. Uruszczak, P. Święcicka, A. Kremer, Kraków 2008, p. 135ff.

Quoting once again the work of the same author should be cited as follows: initial of the name with a dot, surname, abbreviation op. cit. in italics and the page number or the first words of the title in italics with three dots and a page number, eg S. Grobel, op. cit., s. 64 lub S. Grobel, Niektóre aspekty…, p. 64.

If in the text of the article there are two references to one item by the same author next to each other in the following footnotes, the abbreviation Ibidem, in italics, should be used, eg footnote 1 - S. Grobel, Niektóre aspekty…, p. 64; przypis 2 – Ibidem, p. 66.

If in one article several texts of the same author are cited, in the footnotes (further, this does not apply to the first footnote in a given item), enter an unambiguous abbreviation of the title that differentiates these items, after it ..., without italics, e.g. E. Ura, Prawo administracyjne, Warszawa 2010, p. 121ff.; E. Ura, Obowiązki pracowników administracji publicznej a odpowiedzialność za ich wykonanie, „Zeszyty Naukowe Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, Seria Prawnicza”, Prawo 1, 2003, p. 401 - in the following footnotes please cite: (if they are included in one footnote) E. Ghostwriting firewall

The editorial board of Acta Iuridica Resoviensia requires authors to adhere to the principles of scientific integrity.

Sending an article to Acta Iuridica Resoviensia is tantamount to accepting that the article is authored. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the data provided. The co-authors of the publication are asked to fully disclose the contribution of individual people to the publication (including information about their cooperation and the authorship of concepts, assumptions, methods, etc.). This obligation rests primarily with the author submitting the material for publication.

The editors will warn against manifestations of scientific misconduct - incl. such as ghostwriting (making your own contribution without revealing your authorship or co-authorship, and in the case of thanks, without specifying the contribution of the recipient of thanks) and guest authorship (indication of the author or co-author of the publication of a person whose actual author's contribution is negligible or none).

The editorial office will seek information about the sources of financing the publication, including the contribution of research institutions, associations and other entities.

The editorial office will document all manifestations of scientific misconduct, especially breaking and breaching the rules of ethics. Any detected cases of scientific misconduct will be disclosed, including notification to the institutions employing the authors.

 


Principles of reviewing articles submitted to Acta Iuridica Resoviensia

Texts sent to the editorial office will be subject to initial assessment by thematic editors.

When reviewing, the double blind review principle will be applied, according to which the reviewer and the author of the text do not know their identity.

Two external reviewers, from outside the unit, are appointed for the evaluation of each article (in the case of texts in English, at least one of them will come from a foreign institution).

External reviewers:

a) are not members of the Editorial Board,

b) are competent employees in a given field and have at least a doctoral degree and relevant scientific achievements,

c) have a good reputation,

d) are not employed in the same facility from which the authors come,

In other solutions, the reviewer must sign a declaration of no conflict of interest; the conflict of interest between the reviewer and the author is considered:

a) direct personal relationships (kinship, legal relationships, conflict),

b) relationships of professional subordination,

c) direct scientific cooperation during the last two years preceding the preparation of the review.

The editorial office provides the reviewer with the text of the publication, a summary of the article, and asks to make a decision on accepting or rejecting the text for publication within a specified period. The reviewers undertake during the reviewing process to confidentiality in their opinions on the reviewed article and not to use the knowledge acquired on this occasion before its publication.

Acta Iuridica Resoviensia editors provide the reviewer with the review form. The review must end with an unambiguous request for the article to be published or its rejection.

The reviewer submits the review in electronic form to the Editorial Board's e-mail address.

The reviewer's comments are forwarded to the author of the reviewed text, who is obliged to take into account the recommendations of the reviewers and correct the text, or if the author of the text does not agree with the reviewer's conclusions, he has the right to present his position to the Editorial Board. The decision to publish the text is made by the Editor-in-Chief, after consulting the Editorial Committee and the Scientific Council.

 


Principles of publishing ethics

Acta Iuridica Resoviensia has adopted and applies the principles of publishing ethics in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Editors use COPE standards and guidelines, as well as codes of conduct and case study descriptions and diagrams created by the Committee on Publication Ethics, which this organization has made available in electronic form at http://publicationethics.org/resources with the right for further use. The file with the Polish translation of diagrams can be found below among the files for download (Publication Ethics).
