Use of electronic communication means in social participation processes

Currently, the issue of social participation has been discussed in many scientific studies, however, it has not been elaborated on in terms of electronic techniques and tools increasing the participation of citizens in decision-making processes. This requires looking for new solutions that are able to increase the participation of citizens in the co-management of public affairs, which can be achieved through the use of electronic communication means. In the work, the author defines social and electronic participation, and indicates the understanding of the term electronic communication. Then he describes the techniques of electronic social participation, i.e. on-line surveys, interactive maps, discussion forums and chat, supporting them with examples from practice, in the last part of the work the tools of electronic social participation are presented, i.e. websites: www.mamzdanie.org.pl, www.stacja-konsultacja.pl.
