Abstract

As a matter of principle, endogenic law of Churches and other religious organizations is not a source of legal norms in the Republic of Poland. However, sometimes, public authorities are to interpret the religious law. The duty comes with some methodological and practical difficulties. The paper is to help untangle and overcome them. It deals with the following problems: models of relation of religious groups to law, sources of legal norms, mixed, that is legal and theological, character of laws, language of laws, rules of interpretation, and language issues of laws like: general clauses, technical terms, and expressions of identical form but different meaning in the field of Polish and religious law.
