Sexual Education in the Context of Realisation of the Children's Rights

Abstract

The study is focused on the issue of sexual education in the perspective of realising children’s rights. The discussed issues include the goals and assumptions of education, the teaching of the Catholic Church on human sexuality, as well as philosophical, historical and sociological background of the cultural transformation which took place in the second half of the 20th Century. The study further considers selected children’s rights in the context of the postulates of sexual education. Finally, conclusions on the issues under consideration are formulated. The study presents an approach based on natural law and a personalistic view due to their usefulness in education.
