Abstract

Local government, as the structure closest to citizens, is obliged to perform public tasks, including those related to environmental protection, security and public order. These tasks also include preventing extraordinary threats and their consequences. Matters related to the security of the local-government community are an extremely important aspect in the activities of local-government bodies. Local and regional government policies not only have to take into account issues related to combating threats, in particular those that strongly affect residents, but they should also be a priority for local and regional authorities.
