Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the correlation in the system of security and public order at the level of local government units and non-governmental organizations. Ensuring security, peace and public order belongs to the sphere of tasks of public administration and it is the administration that is responsible for the proper condition of these areas in the everyday functioning of citizens. In countries with a democratic system, non-governmental organizations, apart from state and local government institutions, are an important element in the system of security and public order. As part of this study, the role and tasks of, among others, Volunteer Fire Brigades, the Polish Red Cross and the International Police Association.
