The special role of the local government in the protection and the care of monuments

One of the most important functions of public administration is the provision of services consisting in meeting the basic needs of the population. The proving role of the administration is fulfilled especially at the level of local government, for example in the field of monument protection. Preserving historic buildings in good condition is important for the state and local government, as they are heritage of humanity. A special role in this regard is played by the commune, which has been obliged, among others, to keep the communal record of monuments, to create a cultural park and to play a key role in determining the purpose and principles of land development.
