Administrative history in public administrative education within the period of 2007 and 2018 – past position and general conclusions

Abstract

A history of administration is at the same time the subject of education on administration studies as well as one of detailed history disciplines. As the subject it is regulated by the Higher Education Act and administrative acts. That is why the legal basis, curriculum contents, chosen problems of this subject tuition methodology (based on the model of history tuition methodology) and scientific research issues were discussed in the article. The trial to define history of administration as a scientific discipline was also undertaken. The necessity of perceiving it in an interdisciplinary view, especially to put the stress on relations between history of administration with political science, sociology and psychohistory was pointed out. The connections of this discipline with the sciences of administration, administrative law and administrative politics were stressed out. The differences between the history of administration and a history of law or a history of the regime were indicated. In the end the role of administration history in tuition of the future officers was emphasised and the scientific postulates for this discipline representatives were formulated.
