Abstract

The article includes the legal analysis of the conditions, which have contributed to the creation of the institution of the Government’s political responsibility in the British Constitutional Law. First of all, the Author presents a long lasting process of the Cabinet’s emancipation from the King’s legal and political dependency. What is considered next, is the issue of legal relationships between the Cabinet and the Parliament, that was arising in political praxis throughout XVIII and XIX century. As the last part, the Author describes the impact of the two party system on the institution of the Cabinet’s parliamentary responsibility.
