Abstract

The main purpose of the article is to present the role of legal advisors in the lights of the regulations amended by the Law of 27 September 2013. Within the frames of the extended reform, the legislator foresaw a series of changes connected with the role of a legal advisor in the criminal trial. The most important amendment provides legal advisors with the right to exercise the function of a defender of the accused in a criminal proceedings. Such modification of the legal regulations evoked deep criticism among lawyers. The article presents an effort to prove that the charges put against legal advisors concerning their lack of skills, qualifications and knowledge are unjustified.
