The Evolution of the Institution of Construction Supervision in Poland

Abstract

The paper aims at presenting the institution of construction supervision throughout the entire period of its functioning. Creation of the institution of construction supervision was associated with the concept of the construction police, conceived as a sway towards achieving the procedural and substantive rules of construction. Over the whole legislation construction supervision was subject to various organizational transformations, depending on the process of reform in public administration. The outlined evolution of the institution of construction supervision is the background, which affected the crystallization of the current model of construction supervision.
