Abstract

The article discusses the summons of parish churches in the diocese of Przemyśl around 1938, in the last moments of a period of stability in the Republic of Poland shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Attention was focused on a comprehensive presentation of the number of patrons, primarily by types of invocations (trinitarian, Christological, Marian, angelic, hagiographic), but also by types or their groups. The analysis covered mainly the primary summons of 350 parish towns within 35 deaneries. However, the summons submitted were not completely omitted, and the collected data were compared, as far as possible, with the findings concerning the same diocese in the Middle Ages. Thanks to the analysis of tabular summaries and graphical presentation on illustrative maps, the location of parish churches was illustrated, taking into account their titles.
