Decade of education for sustainable development (2005-2014)

Abstract

It was pointed out in the paper that it is important for a human being to educate constantly in order to function. The aims of the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development were presented. Functions of Biology Olympiad as a stimulator of curiosity about the world, fulfillment of the need to act and solve problems important for sustainable development were also pointed out. A teacher interested in the topic can also find examples of initiatives that give the opportunity to join the group of people spreading the idea of sustainable development nationwide.
