Edukacja ekologiczna w realizacji zasad trwałego i zrównoważonego rozwoju

Abstrakt

It was underlined in the paper, that to realize the ways of sustainable development requires participation of a conscious and well educated society. In the conditions of contemporary civilization, knowledge and information, gained by means of scientific research and passed on in the educational process, become the most important resource of economy, shape the level of social and economical development and stimulate the improvement of Polish society’s level of life. Education should teach the values, attitudes and tasks that will enable civilization development and ecological problem solving without environment degradation.

It is essential nowadays, to increase the effectiveness of ecological education. It would be advisable to create a national centre carrying out the activities of informing and promoting ecological education. It is particularly urgent to conduct courses about the requirements of the EU in the field of environmental management, ecological standards and methods of implementing sustainable development. So far, it is only an idea that has no significant reflection in practice in Poland, especially in higher education.
