Abstract

Biotechnology uses living organisms and their parts and products derived there from in order to produce knowledge, products and services. As science evokes a lot of emotion and disputes, therefore, in this study Podkarpacie awareness about the possibility of using the tools of biotechnology in agriculture was analyzed. There was a lack of knowledge about the use of biotechnology, and the knowledge of the same concept. The majority of respondents partly based on word of mouth, but for the most part false, expertise in the application of biotechnology in agriculture. The reason for this state of affairs may be, as the result of the survey, lack of reliable knowledge in social communications. Comforting is the fact that almost three respondents in Podkarpackie wants to learn more about the possible use of biotechnology in agriculture.
