Sheep of genetic resources conservation program in Podkaracie

Abstract

Local breeds and varieties of sheep, covered by the genetic resources conservation program are maintained in areas where they were in the past. Genetic resources conservation program, including in its actions herds located in mountainous areas, as the Podkarpackie region, contributed to the development of sheep herds in this area. Sheep grazing contributes to the maintenance of landscape and grazing sheep "interact" with the environment, especially in the mountains regions. Production of sheep in Podkarpackie is an important element of sustainable development of rural areas .
