Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Please follow these editing guidelines in your papers:
1. Use the 12-point Times New Roman font, 1.5 spacing.
2. Mark longer quotations in a block format, 10-point font.
3. Indicate your academic affiliation clearly (name of the institution).
4. Include the bibliography of the works used at the end of your paper according to the following model:
Stróżewski, W., Dialektyka twórczości, Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne, Kraków 1983.
5. Use the above model in the footnotes (save for the publisher), 10-point font.
6. In the case of footnotes referring the reader to the same book by the same author, omit the title (author, op.cit page).
7. Remove blank spaces between paragraphs.
8. Prepare an abstract (max. 800 characters); it should include the paper aims, outcomes and conclusions.
9. Provide key words at the end of the paper.
10. Illustrations:
a) JPG, PNG, TIFF files (please do not send images in PDF format or pasted into a Word document), 300-dpi images, the longer side not exceeding 18 cm (the minimum is 1080 px: the width of the print column)
b) illustration captions should be submitted in a separate text document. They should include:
- full name of the author of the image
- the image title, medium, the year it was created, the source (the initial of the photographer’s first name and their surname, or the source of reproduction)
Academic papers (subject to reviewing) should have from 20,000 to 40,000 characters. Texts of a more casual nature, e.g. accounts of artistic events, may be shorter.
The Publisher reserves the right to make any necessary text corrections.
