Blaski i cienie życia małżeńskiego w utworach komediowych Walentego Gurskiego

Abstrakt

The article presents ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of marital life in comedy written by Walenty Gurski, in the context of particular works of the literature of XVIII century. His works present different approaches to matrimonial efforts. On one side we have threats caused by marital breakdowns, images of moral depravity as well as parents pressure. The other, more positive side, is created through successful relationships built on love, mutual respect and trust. In his comedy, the Galician author, had been strongly declaring himself in favor of a marriage based on mutual feelings of the youth, that „have connected through love”.
