Abstract

The massacre of the Polish population in Volhynia in 1943, carried out by the UPA and Ukrainians, neighbors of the Polish inhabitants of these villages, has a rich historiography. Nowadays, there is no doubt that a massacre of the Polish population in this province took place. There is only a discussion about its scale. We know much less about Ukrainian crimes against Poles in Eastern Lesser Poland after the massacre in Volhynia. This story has not been properly presented yet. This mistake is corrected by Damian K. Markowski's book, which reminds us of a terrible but unfortunately true story. When a neighbor murdered a neighbor.
