Abstract

The Law of the European Union states that men and women should be treated equally. However, in recent years the economic policy of the Polish government has not considered the problems of equal opportunities for men and women. The most of regulations and programs dealing with these problems is forced by the legal requirements of the EU and it is not a result of the role played by women in European civilization that is underlined by the Polish government.
