In the modern world, information has become one of the most important resources affecting the functioning of individuals and entire societies. The dynamic development of information technology and widespread access to the Internet have revolutionized the communication process, making it fast, widespread and interactive. Therefore, it is important to analyze the basic models of the communication process, which show the mechanisms of transmission and reception of information that determine its effectiveness. This has resulted in the emergence of an information society, which is characterized by the central role of knowledge and media in social, economic and cultural life. Due to the huge influx of data, new threats have emerged, such as disinformation, information overload and message manipulation, and the importance of opinion leaders, who play a key role in interpreting content, has increased. In the face of these transformations, there is a growing need for a critical approach to inforammation and media competence to participate consciously in the global information society.
