Wspomnienie pośmiertne - gatunek o wielu obliczach? Spojrzenie z perspektywy badań germanistycznych
Abstrakt
The obituary attract the interest of many research disciplines. However, it is regarded as a still inadequately examined category. From the point of view of German linguistic genology, scholars do not agree on the status, the functional and thematic traits of the obituary or the definitional quantifiers of this genre.
In this paper, the author, using the findings of scholars of the German speaking circle, attempts to determine different variants of the obituary based on the analysed Polish press releases.
The first part of the article will draw on the traditions and the state of research on the obituary in the German inquiries with particular emphasis on linguistic approaches. In the next part of the study, by means of Stephan Stein’s proposals about the variant of obituary patterns and Roland Kresta’s findings, the author analyzes the Polish press releases for macrostructure and the possible variants of the obituary based on the maxim “de mortuis nil nisi bene” in order to determine whether the Polish texts fall within the framework proposed by the German researchers. It is important to emphasize that the analyses, the results of which are presented in this article have been narrowed down only to a thorough examination of a selected number of press releases.
