Pregnancy Gestures – a Sense of Coherence and the Intensity of the Phenomenon of Pregnancy Mythologization

The article presents the problem of superstitious behaviors undertaken by women in the situation of waiting for the birth of a child. The results of own research conducted on a group of 166future mothers are presented. A slight intensification of the phenomenon was shown, with a tendency to strengthen it in those women whose level of superstition was declared to be generallyhigh. A personality variable that decreases the intensity of superstition in pregnancy is, accordingto assumptions, a high SOC.Downloads
