Anorexia is a disorder, which can be acknowledged as a lifestyle (civilisation) disease. The reasons for this disorder are commonly associated with media influence: women’s magazines, advertisements, television and Internet. The comparison of the results obtained by the members of Pro-ana movement and the control group shows that Butterflies are more concentrated on their appearance, very often live on a diet, derive no satisfaction from eating, dream about model’s career and they depend on others opinion. Both groups of women are equally dissatisfied with their appearance, and they derive knowledge about health and beauty from the media.Downloads
