Abstract

The fuel structure of generating assets of utility power industry in Poland, with an indication of the dynamics of change and international comparisons – at EU level is presented; also the dynamics of the development of renewable energy sources. The trends and prospects for the emergence of new power plants are pointed. Important considerations arising from the impact of wind power for the operation of coal-fired power plants in Poland are discussed. The trends and basic intentions arising from the current Energy Policy of Poland are summarized.
