The article presents the mobile communication market in Poland as well as the basic directions of its transformation. The main feature of this market is the dynamic growth measured by the number of active SIM cards per 100 inhabitants. This market was long characterized by the domination of three operators, each of which had more than 30% market share. Despite the existing oligopoly since 2006 on the Polish communication market appear new mobile network operators as well as virtual ones. The article indicates the growing market position of the new network operator (the company PLAY) and the business strategy of the company. It also presents the reasons for the relatively weak position of virtual operators. At the end some basic factors that could accelerate the further transformation of the communication market in Poland were indicated.Downloads
