Abstract

In the era of climate change and the need for closer contact with nature for the population of urban agglomerations, modern cities modernize their development strategies, designing new and supplementing existing urban layouts with plant forms. A good solution to the current urban problems is to create spaces that are filled with greenery, while maintaining the value of the existing historical values. The aim of the study is to present the possibility of supplementing the existing composition of the historic town square with various plant forms, on the example of the Gorlice. The original concept of creating a sustainable space in the city center, accessible to residents and tourists, refers to the current trends of greening and unsealing impermeable city squares.
