Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine food purchase channels versus the level of food waste among students. Research took the form of an original questionnaire. A total of 199 complete responses were obtained. The analysis of the responses obtained allows us to conclude that purchases were made mainly with stationary. Dairy products were the category of products that were purchased the most frequently, answered by more than 40% of the respondents, regardless of their place of residence, approximately 50% of the people regardless of their age, and almost 50% of the respondents regardless of their place of residence during their studies. Respondents used the purchased food to a significant extent (between 50 and 74.1%). Food waste refers to stationary purchased from food. Education on informed purchasing choices is crucial in terms of efforts aimed at reducing and retardation of consumption of natural resources.
