Attitudes of youth towards psychoactive drugs on the example of students of Vocational School Complex No. 2 in Biała Podlaska

The main focus of the study was to assess the knowledge on psychoactive drugs, the consequences of their use, as well as the general perception of the substances in question by students of Vocational School Complex Nr 2 in Biała Podlaska. The survey was conducted in March 2021 among students of the third and fourth grade of the Vocational School Complex Nr 2 in Biała Podlaska. The sample was selected in a purposeful and convenient way. This study used the survey method of data collection and the online survey questionnaire, in view of pandemic covid-19. The results indicate that the students of ZSZ Nr 2 in Biała Podlaska have sufficient knowledge about psychoactive substances and the consequences of using them. They mainly use widely available, legal psychoactive substances. They are convinced about the lack of consequences of marihuana using and about the low quality of prevention programmes. Results provide a basis for considering increasing the availability of education and making prevention activities for youth more attractive.
