Peer review process
Manuscripts submitted to the editorial office undergo an initial evaluation by the subject editors.
The review process follows the double-blind review principle, whereby the reviewer and the author are unaware of each other’s identity.
Each article is evaluated by two external reviewers from outside the institution (for texts in English, at least one reviewer must come from a foreign institution).
External reviewers must:
a) not be members of the Editorial Board,
b) be qualified in the relevant field, hold at least a doctoral degree, and have an appropriate academic record,
c) enjoy a good professional reputation,
d) not be employed by the same institution as the author(s).
In other cases, the reviewer must sign a statement confirming the absence of a conflict of interest. A conflict of interest is considered to exist between the reviewer and the author in the event of:
a) direct personal relationships (kinship, legal relationships, disputes),
b) professional subordination,
c) direct scientific collaboration within the two years preceding the preparation of the review.
The editorial office provides the reviewer with the manuscript and the article abstract, requesting that the reviewer make a decision, within a specified period, regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript for publication. Reviewers are obliged to maintain confidentiality during the review process regarding their opinions on the article and not to use any knowledge gained before its publication.
Acta Iuridica Resoviensia provides the reviewer with a review form. The review must conclude with a clear recommendation on whether the article should be accepted or rejected for publication.
The reviewer submits the completed review electronically to the editorial office via email.
The reviewer’s comments are communicated to the author, who is obliged to address the reviewers’ recommendations and revise the manuscript, or, if the author disagrees with the reviewer’s conclusions, has the right to present their position to the editorial office. The final decision on publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief, after consulting the Editorial Committee and the Scientific Board.
