E-privacy – defining a safety area in social media and e-commerce

The article analyses the issue of privacy protection in the context of social media and e-commerce in Poland. It discusses the changing threats to privacy resulting from technological progress and growing digital presence. Current legislation, such as GDPR, and its impact on national legislation, as well as the need to adapt it in response to new digital challenges, are presented. The article emphasizes the need to find a balance between personal data protection and economic innovation, drawing attention to the social and legal consequences of privacy violations. Directions for amendments to Polish legislation for better protection of online users are proposed.
