Report on the International Scientific Conference “Security and Equality for Sustainable Futures of European Countries and Their Societies” Lublin, 14 March 2025

This text contains a report on an international academic conference organised by the Department of Administrative Law and Administration Science at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, in collaboration with the Jan Zamoyski Higher School of Humanities and Economics in Zamość, the Academy of Applied Sciences in Radom, the College of European and Regional Studies in České Budějovice (Czech Republic), the University of Vigo (Spain), the University of Maribor (Slovenia), and the Vasil Levski National Military University in Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria). The conference took place on 14 March 2025 and was held remotely via the Microsoft Teams platform. It addressed a variety of issues related to security and equality in the context of the sustainable development of European countries and their societies, viewed through the lens of various scientific disciplines. The conference attracted considerable interest due to the engaging topics presented by the speakers. Forty speakers representing Polish and international scientific centres participated in the conference. Important issues discussed during the conference included security in a military context, health, the protection of personal data, the influence of non-state actors on state functioning, the role of administration in states experiencing natural disasters, respect for democracy, equality with regard to the role and status of national minorities, communication, remuneration and sustainable development, including the protection of cultural heritage and social policy.
