Abstract

The paper presents the figure of social representative in polish criminal procedure as distant echo of roman amicus curiae. There are some similarities in the concept of this type of court aide like legal education to some extent or being competent in some sort of cases, acting on motion of courts or working with the judge approval and impartiality vis-à-vis victim or defendant. The second part of the paper examines latest amendments of art. 90 of criminal procedure code with regard to legal grounds of admission of social representative to the trial.
