Abstract

The aim of this study is to present the basic issues regarding the principle of effectiveness of EU law, which is intended to increase the efficiency of Community law application by the courts and administrative bodies of the Member States. The jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union has been analysed in this respect. EU law affects all areas of life and the effectiveness of its application in the narrow sense is interpreted as the right of individuals to bring cases before court with reference to EU legal acts. It is a complex concept, which is why only some of the issues have been discussed.
