Film Music and Its Use in Polish Language Lessons in Primary School

The aim of this article is to demonstrate that film music has its use in Polish language education within the framework of literary and cultural education. The first part is devoted to selected historical aspects of this genre and the functions it serves in audiovisual works. The second part analyzes the soundtracks of selected adaptations of primary school readings composed by Polish composers such as Wojciech Kilar, Zbigniew Preisner, and Krzesimir Dębski. The third part considers the presence of film music in primary school Polish language classes and presents ideas for its use.
