Mental entertainment has been a part of human life since the beginning of time and is an essential part of the learning process. This article analyses the educational and cognitive benefits of solving puzzles based on representative examples, such as the development of vocabulary, creativity and associative abilities, and the strengthening of perceptiveness, memory and deductive thinking. Drawing on considerations of emotional intelligence, lateral and hypothetical-deductive thinking, and methodological competence, it presents the positive impact of mental entertainment on Polish language teaching.
