“Antiviraysation” in [“Forefathers’ Eve”] by Juliusz Słowacki

Abstract

The author of the paper aims to indicate a new way of interpreting Juliusz Słowacki’s [Dziady] by using a new aesthetic-literary trend known as the Slavic anti-twist. So far, literary scholars have analyzed this dramatic fragment mainly from the genesis perspective or the antagonism of the bards. They believed that through the greatest works of Adam Mickiewicz, such as Dziady, Pan Tadeusz and Konrad Wallenrod, Słowacki expressed his own mystical intentions. During the period of [Dziady] creation, the poet was keenly interested in the Slavic culture, references to which often appeared in his genesis texts. The situation is similar with [Dziady] where one can find elements of the Slavic anti-subjugation
