“Knowledge interdependence grid” – a nightmare for teachers or students?

Abstract

The article demonstrates the presence of interdisciplinary integration within the Polish language, in accordance with the theory proposed by Prof. Henryk Kurczab, specifically in the context of writing high school graduation essays. It has been proven within the article that in order to deepen the interpretation of a given text, the application of interpretive contexts is necessary. As an example, a comparative interpretation sketch of the poems “Wspomnienie” (“Memory”) by Julian Tuwim and Józef Baran, both bearing the same title, has been presented. This sketch was composed in accordance with the high school graduation requirements in effect since 2015 (referred to as the “old formula”). The sketch utilizes literary, cultural, philosophical, and natural knowledge contexts, leading to the formation of a “knowledge-based network of mutual dependencies.” This approach elucidates the phenomenon of integrating texts and contexts within the interpretation of poetic texts, as well as in comparative analysis. Additionally, research was conducted among high school graduates who had taken the graduation exams under the “old formula.” Among the various aspects investigated were the graduates’ willingness to choose interpretation and the factors influencing their decision. Respondents were also queried about their interest in interpreting texts for personal use.
